I am Dorothy, an English, Biology and Chemistry tutor. I am currently pursuing my Master in Education degree at the University of Melbourne. Prior to arriving at Melbourne, I completed my BSc in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. I have worked as an English, Biology and Chemistry tutor for over 6 years, and I enjoy seeing my students thrive! I approach each student of mine differently, because I believe every student is unique, and different approaches need to be used to cater to their learning needs.

How is Your Teaching Style Different to Others: Rather than simply explaining topics and subjects, I encourage students to problem-solve their way to the answer or task, allowing them to, not just wrote learn concepts but be able to apply them in any question or problem they may come across. As well as quizzing them frequently as repetition plays a huge part in learning and memorising, particularly new and difficult concepts.

I am a Bachelor of Biomedicine student at the University of Melbourne. Leveraging my tutoring expertise, I offer comprehensive instruction spanning both IB and VCE curricula. My teaching repertoire encompasses subjects such as EAL, Math Methods, Chemistry, Economics, and advanced Mathematics for various year levels. Hey there, I'm Tina! I have graduated from the Australian National University (ANU) with first-class honours. I mainly studied animals and plants but I've also got a minor in chemistry. Biology is my forte but I have also dabbled in mathematics, management, archaeology, geology, and much more in my 4 years at the ANU. I have been tutoring for almost 5 years and have always truly enjoyed my connections with students. I've come across people from various walks of life and impacting a student's journey in education has always been fulfilling. I would say my tutoring method heavily focuses on open-ended questions and seeking opinions from students. I find it important to have conversations while guiding a student to learn what may be wrong or right.

Hi, my preferred name Sev (She/Her), I am a psychology student who has experience in biology, English and maths. My study sessions are very student-focused, fun and engaging. I have experience working with students who have focus difficulties and can cater my lessons to suit them. I work with students not to only develop their learning but to also develop self-confidence and interpersonal skills. My psychology background sets me aside from other tutors as my approach to teaching is very different to the academic approach seen in Australia.

I am currently doing the Master of Molecular Biology program at UQ. My previous qualifications include a Bachelor of Science focused on Chemistry, Zoology and Microbiology. Apart from that, I have a CELTA certification, so I am qualified to teach students planning to answer an English exam like IELTS and PTE. I enjoy teaching, as it is fun to revise previously learnt topics and share knowledge. I look forward to being able to assist my students in their studies and help them find subjects like English, maths, and science as fun and intriguing as I did. Having answered IELTS, I am able to guide others on it and my current qualifications make me very familiar with biological and chemical sciences. I usually let the students find the answers by nudging them in the right direction, asking them questions to get them thinking about concepts and explain topics they need further clarification on using examples or visual aids.

During my academic journey, I had the opportunity to engage with multiple curriculums and experience various teaching methods. Choosing Advanced Levels provided me with an in-depth education in five selected fields. As a high-achieving student, I was entrusted with tutoring peers in my year level and participated in numerous national science and mathematics competitions. These experiences fostered a strong sense of diversity and adaptability in my approach to learning and teaching.
